IP · Trademark Clearance Triage

Triage a proposed trademark

First-pass triage on a proposed mark — knockout intrinsic bars, similar-marks check, jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction notes, and a likelihood-of-confusion factor walk. This is a flag list, not a clearance opinion.

Useful for in-house IP counsel, brand managers, and small-firm trademark practitioners surfacing risks BEFORE engaging full professional search. Covers US (du Pont / circuit-specific tests), EU (EUTMR Art. 8(1)(b) / SABEL / Canon), and LatAm civil-law (Decisión Andina 486, BR INPI Lei 9.279, MX IMPI, DR ONAPI). The tool NEVER concludes a mark is clear.

⚠️ This is a triage, not a clearance opinion. A trademark clearance opinion requires a full professional search (TESS / TMview / EUIPO / WIPO Global Brand Database / state registries / common-law / domain) and registered trademark counsel's judgment. A 'no obvious conflicts' result means the triage didn't find anything — it does NOT mean the mark is clear. Clients have been sued over marks that passed a knockout search.
