Refund Policy
lawra.io · Version 2026-10-09 · Effective 9 October 2026
This policy is part of the Terms of Use and Sale and explains when we refund a subscription. It is written for subscriptions, which is the only thing lawra.io sells.
In short: cancel whenever you like from the subscription portal — your plan simply runs to the end of the period you paid for. If you are a consumer you also have a statutory right to change your mind: at least 3 business days in the Dominican Republic, 14 days in the EU, EEA and UK. If we break the service or bill you by mistake, we refund it.
Cancelling is not the same as a refund
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. This is the normal way to leave, you can do it yourself in the subscription portal, and it needs no approval from us.
A refund returns money you have already paid. The rest of this page is about when that happens.
Consumers in the Dominican Republic: 3 business days to reflect
If you are a consumer resident in the Dominican Republic, you have a reflection period of at least 3 business days from subscribing (Ley 358-05). Tell us within that period and we refund you in full. For you, the Spanish version of these documents prevails.
Consumers in the EU, EEA and UK: 14-day right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom, you have 14 days from subscribing to withdraw, without giving a reason.
Because a subscription is a digital service that starts at once, there is one thing to know: by subscribing and using the tools you ask us to start immediately. If the service has been fully performed at your request within the 14 days, the withdrawal right is lost. In practice a subscription is not fully performed until its period ends, so if you withdraw within 14 days we refund you in proportion to the part of the period you have not used, and in full if you have not used the service at all.
To withdraw, write to support@lawra.io. You do not need a form, but you may use the model withdrawal form in the Consumer Rights Directive if you prefer.
Business customers
If you subscribed for your work, your trade or your organisation, you are a business customer and the two statutory windows above do not apply to you. You may still cancel at any time, and we still refund in the situations below.
We refund in these situations, whoever you are
- We billed you by mistake — a double charge, a charge after you cancelled, or a charge on the wrong plan. Refunded in full, and we fix the cause.
- You were charged for a renewal you had cancelled. Refunded in full.
- The service was unavailable for a substantial part of your billing period because of a fault on our side. Refunded in proportion.
- We discontinue the service or your plan during a period you have paid for. We refund the unused part.
- You subscribed by accident and tell us promptly before making real use of the plan. We refund it; we would rather you were a willing customer than a trapped one.
What we do not refund
- A period you used. Once a month or a year has been used, we do not refund it because you later stopped using it. Cancel instead and the next one will not be charged.
- Dissatisfaction with what the AI produced. This is the one that needs saying plainly on a legal-AI site: the tools produce unverified drafts, and the Terms (section 2) are explicit that output can be wrong, out of date or invented, and that you must check it. An output you disagreed with, or that contained an error you caught, is the service working as described, not a defect. What we do refund is the service not being available, not the service not being right.
- Loss you suffered from relying on an output. Covered by section 14 of the Terms, not by this policy.
- Third-party outages at the AI provider, where they are brief and the service otherwise works.
- Usage limits. Running out of your daily allowance is the plan working as described.
If a tool fails mid-generation
If a generation fails, is cut off, or returns nothing, run it again — it costs you nothing beyond your usage allowance, and a failed run does not consume a paid entitlement. If the output stopped because it reached its length limit, the tool tells you so, and either continues automatically or offers a Continue control so you can get the rest. If a tool fails repeatedly, write to support@lawra.io: that is a fault, and if it ran through a substantial part of your period we refund in proportion.
How to ask, and how you are paid
Write to support@lawra.io from the e-mail on the account, and tell us what happened. Include the date of the charge if you have it.
- We acknowledge within 2 working days and answer within 10 working days.
- An approved refund goes back to the card or method you paid with, through Stripe. We cannot send it anywhere else.
- Card refunds usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank; the time it takes after we issue it is your bank’s, not ours.
- For a Dominican invoice paid by transfer or cheque, we issue the corresponding credit note (nota de crédito) and refund to the account the payment came from.
If you disagree with our answer
Write to legal@lawra.io and we will look at it again. Consumers in the Dominican Republic may also go to Pro Consumidor (proconsumidor.gob.do). Consumers elsewhere keep the protection of their own law and may bring a claim in the courts of their domicile. Nothing in this policy takes away a right your law gives you.
