Terms of Use and Sale
lawra.io · Version 2026-10-09 · Effective 9 October 2026
In short: Lawra gives you AI tools that draft legal documents and simulate legal reasoning. It is not a lawyer, it does not give legal advice, and using it creates no lawyer-client relationship. Everything it produces is a draft for a qualified professional to check. Your text goes from your browser straight to Google’s Gemini, on a paid tier where Google does not train on it — but it is still a disclosure to a third party, and whether to make it is your professional call. Free use is metered; paid plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions you can cancel at any time through the subscription portal. If you are a consumer you have a statutory right to change your mind — at least 3 business days in the Dominican Republic, 14 days in the EU.
These terms cover both using the site (sections 1–9) and buying a subscription (sections 10–16). Sections 17–20 apply to both.

Write to legal@lawra.io about these terms, or support@lawra.io about your account.
2. Lawra is not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice
This section is the most important one on the page. By using Lawra you accept all of it.
- No legal advice. Everything on lawra.io — every generated document, argument, analysis, ruling, checklist, answer from the chat, and every word from the Council of Jurists or the trial simulator — is information and drafting assistance, not legal advice. It is not an opinion on your matter and must not be relied on as one.
- No lawyer-client relationship. Using this site, creating an account, paying for a plan, or sending us a message does not make us your lawyers and creates no lawyer-client relationship, no retainer and no engagement. CEMI is not a law firm and is not authorised to practise law in any jurisdiction.
- No confidentiality or privilege arises from using the site. What you send to an AI tool is sent to a third-party AI provider (see the Privacy Policy, section 4), and nothing you type here is protected by legal professional privilege by virtue of being typed here. We use Google’s Gemini API on its paid tier, where Google’s terms commit that it does not train on your prompts or the responses — but that is a term about training, not a privilege, and deciding whether to disclose a client’s confidential information to an outside AI service remains your professional judgement, under your own jurisdiction’s rules. We give you the facts about where the text goes; we do not give you advice about your duties.
- You must check everything before you use it. AI systems produce fluent text that can be wrong, out of date, or invented — including citations to cases, statutes and authorities that do not exist, or that exist and say something different. The citation checks we offer reduce this risk; they do not remove it. Verify every authority against the primary source before you file, send or rely on anything.
- The output is a first draft. It is your professional responsibility, not ours, to review and adapt it. If you are a lawyer, your duties of competence, supervision and candour to the court apply to work you produce with this tool exactly as they do to work produced by a junior colleague.
- If you are not a lawyer, get one. For any real legal matter — a deadline, a dispute, a contract you are about to sign, anything with money or liberty in it — consult a qualified attorney licensed in your jurisdiction. Do not use this site as a substitute for that.
- No outcome is promised. Nothing here predicts, guarantees or influences what a court, regulator or counterparty will do. The trial simulator, the AI judge and the Council of Jurists are educational simulations. They are not forecasts, and they are not evidence.
- Jurisdiction and currency. The tools draw on general legal concepts and on material that may reflect a particular jurisdiction or a particular moment. The law differs by jurisdiction and changes. Nothing here is tailored to yours unless you make it so, and even then it needs checking.
3. Who may use Lawra
You may use Lawra if you are 18 or over and able to enter into a contract. The site is for lawyers, law students, in-house teams and businesses, and is not directed to children under 13. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
4. Your account
- You may use many tools without an account; we create an anonymous account automatically so free use can be metered.
- A registered account is personal to you. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what is done through your account.
- Identity and subscriptions are handled by xAId, CEMI’s shared sign-in service. The same account may work across other CEMI sites.
- You can close your account by writing to support@lawra.io. We keep what the law requires us to keep (see the Privacy Policy, section 6).
5. Free use and fair use
Free use is metered: anonymous users get a small number of AI messages per day, registered users more. Limits can change. Paid plans raise or remove them as described on the pricing page.
You agree not to work around these limits, not to use the site through automated means at a scale that burdens it, not to resell access, and not to use it to build a competing dataset or model.
6. What you may not use Lawra for
You may not use Lawra:
- to break the law, or to help someone else break it;
- to practise law without the authorisation your jurisdiction requires, or to hold yourself out as able to;
- to produce a document that impersonates a court, a regulator, a lawyer, a firm or any real person or body, or that would pass as genuine when it is not;
- to produce fabricated evidence, false records or forged signatures;
- to file anything with a court or regulator that you have not verified;
- to harass, defame or deceive anyone;
- to upload material you have no right to upload;
- to probe, attack or circumvent the site’s security, its rate limits or its payment and entitlement checks.
We may suspend or close an account that does any of this. Where we do, we will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
7. Your content, and who owns what
- Your inputs stay yours. What you type, paste and upload remains yours. You grant us only the licence we need to run the service for you: to process it, send it to the AI provider on your instruction, store what you choose to save, and show it back to you.
- The output is yours to use. We claim no ownership of the documents the tools generate for you, and you may use them for your own or your clients’ purposes. We make no warranty that output is original or non-infringing, and the same or similar text may be generated for someone else: AI output is not reliably unique, and in several jurisdictions text generated without human authorship may not attract copyright at all.
- You confirm you may upload what you upload. If you upload your firm’s playbooks, precedents or a client’s documents, you confirm you have the right to do so, including any client consent that your professional obligations require. Please read the Privacy Policy, section 4, before uploading anything confidential.
- Share links are public. If you create a share link, anyone holding it can read that document. If you save a mock trial, it is readable by anyone. Do not do either with a real client matter.
- The site itself is ours. The Lawra name and logo, the site, its design, its text, its prompts and its tool designs are owned by CEMI and licensed to you only for using the service.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Lawra available but promise no particular uptime. It is provided as it is. Features, limits, models and prices can change, and tools can be withdrawn. The AI providers behind the tools are third parties and can be unavailable, rate-limited or changed without our control; a tool may therefore fail, be slow, or refuse a request.
9. The AI providers behind the tools
The tools run on Google’s Gemini models, called directly from your browser — Google is the only AI provider your text is sent to. We use the API on its paid tier, under which Google’s terms commit that it does not use your prompts or the responses to train or improve its models.
Your prompt is otherwise processed under Google’s own terms, which we do not control. We may change model or provider as the technology moves, but we will not move to a provider or tier whose terms permit training on your content without telling you first: where a change materially affects how your data is handled, we update the Privacy Policy and say so on the site before it takes effect.
10. Subscriptions — what you are buying
Paid plans are subscriptions to use the service at a higher allowance and with access to paid tools, as described on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. You are buying access for a period, not a quantity of documents and not a professional service. Prices shown on the pricing page are live from Stripe.
11. Business and consumer customers
Most Lawra users are professionals or businesses buying for their work: those are business customers. If you are buying for purposes outside any trade or profession, you are a consumer, and the consumer rights in sections 13 and 17 apply to you and cannot be reduced by these terms.
12. Prices, payment and taxes
- Payment is taken by Stripe on a page Stripe hosts. We never see or store your card number.
- The plan renews automatically for the same period until you cancel, at the price in force when it renews. We tell you before a price change affects you.
- Taxes: prices are exclusive of any tax that applies to you unless the pricing page says otherwise. Dominican invoices issued by the SRL carry ITBIS at 18% and are issued with an NCF or e-CF.
- Business customers may be asked for a company name and tax number for the invoice.
13. Cancelling, and changing your mind
- Cancel at any time. Use the subscription portal, reachable from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
- Consumers in the Dominican Republic: you have at least 3 business days to reflect (Ley 358-05), and the Spanish version of these terms prevails for you.
- Consumers in the European Union, EEA and United Kingdom: you have 14 days to withdraw. Because this is a digital service supplied immediately, by subscribing and starting to use the tools you ask us to begin at once and acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right once the service has been fully performed; where it has been partly performed we refund in proportion.
- The detail, and how to ask, is in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
14. Liability
Read this with section 2. What the tools produce is unverified draft text, and the limits below are set on that basis.
- We are not liable for your use of the output. We are not liable for any loss arising from a document, argument, citation, analysis or answer produced on this site, including a missed deadline, a lost case, a sanction, a rejected filing, a bad contract, a fabricated citation, or advice given to a client on the strength of it. Verification is yours (section 2).
- Business customers: our total liability to you, for everything, is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost business, lost data or reputational harm. These limits do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, or anything the law does not allow us to limit.
- Consumers: these limits apply to you only so far as your law allows, and nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- No professional-liability cover is provided. We do not carry, and do not offer you, professional indemnity cover for your practice. Your own insurance and professional obligations are unaffected by using this tool.
- The free tier is provided as a courtesy and, so far as the law allows, without warranty of any kind.
15. Indemnity (business customers)
If you are a business customer, you will cover us against claims brought against us because you used the service in breach of section 6, uploaded material you had no right to upload, or presented output as something it is not.
16. Suspension and ending
You may stop using Lawra at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we must for legal or security reasons, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we refund the unused part of a paid period.
17. Governing law, claims and disputes
- Claims: write to legal@lawra.io, or support@lawra.io for an account or billing problem. We acknowledge every claim within 2 working days and answer it within 10 working days. We always try to resolve a problem with you directly first.
- Card subscriptions (US company): governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. For business customers, disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
- Dominican invoices (Dominican company): governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic, and disputes go to the courts of Santo Domingo.
- Consumers keep the protection of the law of their country of residence and may bring a claim in the courts of their domicile. Consumers in the Dominican Republic may also go to Pro Consumidor (Instituto Nacional de Protección de los Derechos del Consumidor, proconsumidor.gob.do).
18. Personal data
How we handle your data is in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Section 4 of it explains where the text you type is sent.
19. Accepting these terms
By using the site you accept these terms. When you subscribe, you accept them for that subscription, and we record which version you accepted and when (Ley 126-02). The version you accepted applies to that subscription period.
20. Language and changes
These terms are published in several languages. For Dominican invoices and for consumers in the Dominican Republic, the Spanish version prevails; in every other case, the English version prevails.
We may update these terms. For a subscription already running, the version you accepted applies until it renews; we tell you before a change takes effect on renewal. For free use, the current version applies.
